Apple released Beta 8 for iPhone SDK and iPhone OS. Along with that, it released iTunes 7.7. They also announced that it’s time to post your application in their repository. Those applications will be processed and posted to the AppStore before they release it to the public. Apple is claiming that this OS version is almost the final version of the OS which will be released to public. Also, all those applications need to be signed by this version.

Apple released their Beta 6 today. It has several changes to the API and asked developers to recreate their Provision profiles with the new update. Now, iPhone requires AppID for your existing applications. You have to login to your program portal and recreate AppID for the one you are developing with. Then, modify existing provisioning profile and update it a particular app id.

Apple released their Beta 5 recently. My old applications broke as usual and i was able to rebuild them back with new API changes in a day. The wizards include new items and “First Responder” was added to the XIB file. In the new iPhone OS seed, there are quite a bit of changes to the “Settings”. There are new features for Enterprise email as expected. I was able to recover my old data without any problem. Interface builder toolbar items changed a little bit. Lots of properties changed with appearance and location. Overall, this build seems to be ok than any other previous ones. Hope to see Beta 6 before the final release for us to digest.
– iPhone SDK Beta 4 Blog –
I had my phone working weird after i moved all the iPhone pictures into my Mac. It stopped saving pictures anymore. Then i saw the email from Apple about Beta 4. I struggled to install it on the phone. I restored atleast 5-6 times before i had that working.
After a successful 4 hr. marathon, i managed to have it installed and lost all my old backups ! Then i found the screen with a new icon for App Store. ooooohooo. It doesn’t do anything for now. Hopefully from June, it should work better.
– iPhone SDK Beta 3 Blog –
iPhone SDK Beta 3 is released today. Looks like there is not much change in Interface Builder. But there are changes in the API’s. Also, they fixed the pink screen issue and the expiration is fixed now. I will post other changes as soon as i install it. The version of Interface Builder is 3.1 (649) which was 648 before. I am anticipating more changes to the UI. XCode new versions are as below:
